A group of Enid nonprofit organizations received donations from Security National Bank this week totaling $18,300.
Receiving donations were Garfield County Child Advocacy Council, Hedges Regional Speech and Hearing Center, YWCA Crisis Center and Enid Community Clinic.
SNB President Brad Blankenship, Scott Athey and April Danahy made the presentations in person.
The child advocacy council received $8,500 toward establishment of a videoconferencing system for children to use to testify in abuse cases.
Hedges received $2,800 to repair the front doors that no longer work properly and to make them more handicapped accessible.
The YWCA Crisis Center received $2,000 for client needs. The YWCA operates a full-time women’s crisis center.
Enid Community Clinic received $5,000, which volunteer Janet Cordell said will help people purchase over-the-counter medications.
Blankenship said the criteria is established by a bank committee that meets to look for needs in the community.
“They look for community needs and good work that each one does for the community. We did some due diligence and made the decision,” Blankenship said.
