AdvancePierre Foods is adding about 30 new jobs at its Enid facilities as it celebrates the first anniversary of the merger that formed the company.
In all, the company locally is hiring about 50 associates, said Janet Byrum, director of HR operations west for AdvancePierre in Enid. About 30 of the jobs are new positions, and the rest are positions that currently are vacant.
The jobs, which pay from $9 to $25 an hour, include packers, machine operators, maintenance and mechanics.
The company is bringing some new product lines to its Enid facilities, Byrum said. AdvancePierre constantly is looking at how it can be most efficient, and that often points to moving positions to Enid.
Advance Food Co., Pierre Foods and Advance Brands officially merged Sept. 30, 2010, to form AdvancePierre Foods. The company added Barber Foods, of Maine, as an acquisition in June.
In celebration of the merger anniversary, the company has held a variety of activities to thank its Enid staff, including giveaways of prizes, gift cards to area restaurants and tickets to a Reba McIntire concert.
“The success of the company is based on the hard work and dedication of our associates,” said Bill Toler, CEO. “We are proud of our team in Enid and look forward to continued growth and success at these plants.”
According to figures provided by Enid Regional Development Alliance, AdvancePierre employs 1,850 people in Enid, making it the city’s largest employer.
