Fallin travels with Oklahoma delegation to pitch Sooner State to wind industry execs in Calif.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Gov. Mary Fallin is traveling to California with a group of Oklahoma business leaders to promote the Sooner State as a great place for the wind industry to do business.

Fallin led an Oklahoma delegation on Monday to the American Wind Energy Association's annual tradeshow and convention in Anaheim, Calif.

She says her priority is bringing jobs and investment to Oklahoma, and that wind power has "tremendous potential" as a source of economic development.

Others in the delegation include chamber officials from Ardmore, Duncan, Enid, Oklahoma City, Ponca City, Tulsa and Woodward.

Commerce Department Deputy Director Sandy Pratt says Oklahoma is ideal for wind energy development because of its location in the North American wind corridor, competitive operating costs and industry incentives.
