Innovator profile: Fence Solutions Inc.

Building fences is a tough job. Attaching the wire to the post can be the most aggravating and time-consuming part of installing a fence. Twisting old-fashioned clips with pliers and screwdrivers oftentimes results in cut hands and torn clothes.

There is now an easier way – thanks to Enid-based Fence Solutions Inc. The company’s Fence Fork Clips, used in conjunction with its Fence Fork, are designed to attach wire to T-posts faster with no twisting or reaching through fence.

The patented Fence Fork clips have two loops as opposed to the old one-loop clip. This allows for quick and easy installation that won’t slide up or down when livestock leans against the fence. To use, place clip around the post and over the top of the wire, insert fork behind wire and through the two loops of the clip and simply pull down.

“The biggest difference in our clip and most of the old-style clips is it’s about five times faster to use. We have an installation tool that takes basically all of the manual work out of it. It’s a lot more user-friendly for the older producers and the women that don’t have strength in their hands. Plus, it’s easier for everybody,” said Randy Breitenkamp, partner in Fence Solutions.

The system works with any type of fence wire that attaches to a T-post, including barbed wire, hog wire, cattle panels and many other fencing products. In addition to saving time and frustration, the Fence Fork Clips eliminate constant maintenance.

“Our clip is also more secure on the fence itself because of its design,” he said. “Another advantage of our product, is that if you need to restretch your fence, you can take our clips right back off and reuse them.”

Demand for the Fence Fork Clips continues to climb. The company expects to double its production in the next few months to 2.4 million clips a month. To help meet increasing demand, Fence Solutions has doubled its number of employees in the last year to 10 and expects to add four more employees soon. The company also has five outside sales representatives that travel across the nation.

The Fence Fork Clips are available in packages of 100 and can be bought for $6.75 online at www.fencesolutionsinc.net or by calling 888-43FENCE. The Fence Fork sells for $10.75 on the company’s website. Both products are also available at more than 300 retailers nationwide, including Atwoods and Stillwater Mills among others, as well as major post distributors that deliver to local stores and coops throughout the U.S.

Another one of Fence Solutions’ innovative products is The Quick Brace, designed to make constructing corners and inline braces simpler for fence builders.
