ENID — STECO announced Tuesday it will be filling about 45 new positions in Enid.
The jobs, which will be in welding, painting and assembly, will pay between $14 and $17 per hour, said STECO Executive Vice President Greg Haub.
The jobs also will come with a set of benefits.
“We are pleased to be in a position in the trailer production industry where we need to ramp up our workforce in order to meet the demand of current and potential orders,” Haub said. “We are looking for hardworking men and women that are ready to make an impact in this growing company.”
Haub said one of the reasons behind adding jobs was the fact the scrap industry is busy. Also, the oil and gas industry continues to be productive.
STECO, a sister company of GEFCO, is a manufacturer of transfer and dump trailers for demolition and refuse use.
In 1972, the company engineered and manufactured the first open-top, push-out transfer trailer for the waste industry. The company today continues to focus on the development and improvement of transfer and dump trailers and other ways to haul and load scrap or recyclable materials.
The company currently has 48 employees. Residents can apply for a position by going to STECO, 2215 S. Van Buren, and filling out an application.
“Enid is fortunate to have a great corporate citizen like STECO that is continuing to invest in our community,” said Brent Kisling, Enid Regional Development Alliance executive director. “Along with their sister company GEFCO, they have been a consistent symbol of our strong manufacturing sector for decades.”
