Lamb was elected on a campaign platform of job growth and economic development. He serves on the governor’s cabinet as an advocate for Oklahoma’s small business.
Earlier in his career, Lamb played football at Louisiana Tech University and then returned to Oklahoma to earn his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and his law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law.
In 1993, he was on the campaign staff of Gov. Frank Keating, then worked alongside Keating four years.

He was a site supervisor for Bush’s presidential campaign in 2000. In early 2001, he was appointed to the national Joint Terrorism Task Force, where he received training and briefings at the CIA, FBI and Secret Service headquarters in Washington. After the terrorist attacks, he was assigned to portions of the 9-11 investigation.
In 2002 Lamb left the Secret Service for a position on the staff of U.S. Sen. Don Nickles.
He was elected to the Oklahoma Senate in 2004, serving two terms and becoming the first Republican majority floor leader in state history.
